Large scale Industries Ginning and pressing Industry :There are ginning and pressing mills at Barshi, Akluj, Pandharpur, Mohol and Akkalkot. These areas which formerly suffered from the occurrence of frequent famines, are now reverberating with economic prosperity.

Dairy Industry : The district also has the Solapur dairy industry. There are milk chilling plants at Solapur, Barshi, Pandharpur, Akluj, and Sangole. Kunku is made at Kem in Karmala taluka. Brass utensils are made at Tikekarwadi. Making bidis is another small scale industry in the district.
